PLAINER WORDS …SIX DAYS OF CREATION

“FOR IN SIX DAYS THE LORD MADE HEAVEN AND EARTH, THE SEAS, AND ALL THAT IS IN THEM, AND ON THE SEVENTH DAY HE RESTED …” (Exodus 20:11).

GENESIS 1

DAY 1

Time begins (verse 1)
Heaven and Earth created (verse 1)
Earth was unformed and unfilled (verse 2)
Spirit of God hovers over waters (verse 2)
Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters (verse 2)
Light called into existence (verse 3)
God saw the light, that it was good (verse 4)
God divided the light from darkness (verse 4)
And God called the light Day (verse 5)
He called the darkness Night (verse 5)
And the evening and the morning were the first day (verse 5)

DAY 2

Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters (verse 6)
Firmament made and divided the waters (verse 7)
And God called the firmament Heaven (verse 8)
And the evening and the morning were the second day (verse 8)

DAY 3

Waters under heaven gathered together in one place (verse 9)
Dry land appeared (verse 9)
And God called the dry land Earth (verse 10)
The waters gathered together He called Seas (verse 10)
And God saw that it was good (verse 10)
The earth brought forth grass, herbs’ seed, and fruit trees (verse 11)
And the evening and the morning were the third day (verse 13)

DAY 4

Lights made in the firmament of heaven (verse 14)
Lights divided the day from the night (verse 14)
The lights were in the firmament of heaven (verse 15)
They gave light upon the earth (verse 15)
And God made two great lights (verse 16)
The greater light to rule the day (verse 16)
The lesser light to rule the night (verse 16)
He made the stars also (verse 16)
And God set them in the firmament of heaven (verse 17)
The lights divided the light from the darkness (verse 18)
And the evening and morning were the fourth day (verse 19)

DAY 5

Let the waters bring forth abundantly moving creatures (verse 20)
And fowl that may fly above the earth in the firmament of heaven (verse 20)
Great whales were created and every living creature (verse 21)
Each after his own kind (verse 21)
And God saw that it was good (verse 21)
God blessed them (verse 22)
Saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters of the seas (verse 22)
And let the fowl multiply in the earth (v. 22)
And the morning and the evening were the fifth day (verse 23)

DAY 6

And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind (verse 24)
God made beast of the earth after his kind (verse 25)
Cattle, and every thing that creeps were made (verse 25)
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness (verse 26)
And let them have dominion over the fish, fowl, cattle, and over all the earth (verse 26)
So God created man in His own image (verse 27)
In the image of God created He him (verse 27)
Male and female created He them (verse 27)
And God blessed them and said, Be fruitful, and multiply (verse 28)
And fill the earth, and subdue it (verse 28)
And have dominion over every living thing (verse 28)
Every plant on earth’s surface was given for food (verse 29)
And God saw every thing He made was good (verse 31)
And the evening and the morning were the sixth day (verse 31)

Genesis 2

“THUS THE HEAVENS AND THE EARTH WERE FINISHED, AND ALL THE HOST OF THEM” (verse 1).

Footnote:

Satan, that old serpent, was created along with the other angelic host of heaven. All the host of heaven were finished being created by the end of the sixth day of Creation. He made his approach to Eve by speaking through a serpent, which is described as “more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made” (Genesis 3:1).
